This slant-top secretary desk with short handy bookcase is an approved reproduction of a rare mahogany example made in Virginia about 1760. The top bookcase section is removable and nests into the lower section with molding on three sides. Drawer and shelves are of yellow pine. Thirteen drawers each with mahogany fronts, yellow pine sides, assembled by hand-dovetailing. Yellow pine drawer bottoms are hand chamfered and fastened with hand-wrought nails
